each ventricle carries

Don't tell me the sky
doesn't expand in your
mind. Your thoughts
of me become
laced with comets,
hypnotizing me in
your vast universe of secrets.

Don't tell me there isn't
a fire over your lips.
I remember the burning
sensation from every
tender kiss. The heat
controlling your smile
lingers on tonight.

Don't tell me the sun
doesn't shine within your
eyes. You're the first
entity I see when I wake,
the natural force that makes
me love you so deeply.

Don't tell me you
aren't my world--
if not this was all in vain.
